Team Tyler ❤️🩹
My Story
In April 2023 my son Tyler, at the age of 23 fell poorly with his breathing and what was first diagnosed as pneumonia, very quickly turned our lives upside down as the consultants at Royal Stoke Hospital discovered an issue with his heart. Tyler was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and advised that he was extremely poorly.
They acted quickly to install an ICD, with the hope along side medication for the rest of his life that this could be controlled.
Unfortunately the months that followed, it was deemed his heart isn’t strong enough for him to carry on living a “normal” life and subsequently he had to give up his work along with other normal day to day activities we would usually take for granted.
Further news followed that his heart hasn’t shown signs of improvement that was hoped for from the medication. He has now been placed under the care of the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham with a view of an early future heart transplant.
Watching Tyler, now 24, deal with his diagnosis mentally and physically has been unbelievably hard.
Tyler has stayed strong and carried on dealing with this news and upcoming treatment plans amazingly well, showing us all what a strong character he is and everyday makes us all so proud of him for how he copes and the man that he is.
Tyler has got a long journey ahead of him and we will be right beside him all of the way.
For this reason as his mum, I will be running the Manchester 10K with my family and friends and my partner will also be running the half Marathon the same day with his group of family and friends.
We will be running for the British Heart Foundation and would appreciate any donation you could give to this amazing charity close to our Hearts ♥️
Thank you 🙏
